The Jacobs Medical Center recently installed four Caterpillar 3516 CHD standby generator sets. The generators had to be installed before construction could begin on the structure around them. The four generators were installed in just under an hour. The diesel fire generators will provide emergency power for the hospital in the event of a power loss. Dynalectric purchased the generators from Hawthorne Power Systems.
The Jacobs Medical Center project is part of the University of California, San Diego Health System expansion. The new ten-story hospital is scheduled to open in 2016. Read more about the expansion project.
