Is Your Generator Set Sized Accurately?

S&B Engineering | Hawthorne Cat Customer Spotlight

S&B Engineering is a loyal Hawthorne Cat customer. The company may only be a few years old, but Co-Founders George Spirz and Josh Bridwell have decades of experience. Their combined experience has enabled the duo to gain valuable insight on how to efficiently run their earthmoving contracting business.

In the latest edition of On the Job magazine, Spirz explains how S&B's team is limited to just 10 employees. Together, they only work on small jobs within a 100-mile radius of San Diego County. Adopting the micro approach has enabled S&B to maintain control while maximizing their profits. Last year, S&B surpassed their projected profit by 20 percent and are expected to double revenue this year. Spirz and Bridwell maintain control by taking on a variety of administrative office tasks such as accounting and payroll. Their experience and extensive skill set have also enabled S&B to keep projects in-house instead of depending on subcontractors. Their fleet of Cat equipment keeps them on the job longer and able to complete projects in expected time.
